Overview
MatSpecJSON represents what a product must satisfy to legitimately conform to its base material specification, including imported general requirements and adoption overlays.
Primary content
- Grades, classes, types, UNS numbers, and aliases
- Chemistry and composite chemistry constraints
- Mechanical, hardness, impact, and heat-treatment requirements
- Test methods, sampling, frequencies, retests, certification, and marking
- Explicit distinction between “no requirement” and “not extracted”
Design principle
MatSpec is grade-centric because product specifications generally organize requirements around named grades or conditions.
Known work
- Extract common primitives into MatJSON Core
- Formalize formulas and statistical acceptance
- Strengthen imported general-requirement and adoption-overlay precedence
- Add stricter completeness profiles
